January 2018

1. Workshops on Science Administration & Management, and Science Journalism for Women (Level 2), in collaboration with Newton Bhabha Fund, British Council
Selected participants from respective Level 1 workshops on Science Administration & Managment and Science Journalism will be selected to participate in Level 2 workshops. These 2-day workshops will provide some advanced training in these allied science fields and will be conducted by the same team from Coventry University, UK
Dates: January 8-9, 2018
 
2. Regional Pedagogy Workshop for College Science Teachers at Sawantwadi, Maharashtra in collaboration with DBT/DST, Govt. of India and SKP Mahavidyala, Sawantwadi
This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs), that focus on process of science rather than information, and help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. The participants trained in previous national-level workshops by a team of experts from UK will be trainers in this workshop. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses in Konkan area are eligible to participate.
Dates: January 9-11, 2018;  Location: Sawantwadi, Maharashtra
 
3. Regional Pedagogy Workshop for College Science Teachers at Hyderabad, Telangana, in collaboration with DBT/DST, Govt. of India and Bhavan's Vivekananda College
This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs), that focus on process of science rather than information, and help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. The participants trained in previous national-level workshops by a team of experts from UK will be trainers in this workshop. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses in and around Telangana are eligible to participate.

February 2018

1.  Mentorship Camp for Winners of the Initiative for Research and Innovation in Science (IRIS) Science Fair
Winners of the national science fair who are preparing to compete at the global stage will spend two days at IISER Pune, refining and honing their projects. They will meet IISER Pune faculty members from the relevant field who will mentor them. They will also have the chance to visit IISER Pune labs and know more about the institute.
Dates: February 3-4, 2018
 
2. Regional Pedagogy Workshop for College Science Teachers at Madhepura, Biharin collaboration with DBT/DST, Govt. of India and B.N. Mandal University Madhepura
This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs), that focus on process of science rather than information, and help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. The participants trained in previous national-level workshops by a team of experts from UK will be trainers in this workshop. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses in and around Bihar are eligible to participate. 
Dates: February 13-15, 2018;  Location: Madhepura, Bihar
 
3. Regional Pedagogy Workshop for College Science Teachers at Mangalore, Karnataka in collaboration with DST, Govt. of India, IndiaBioscience and Nitte University Center for Science Education and Research (NUSCER), Mangalore
This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs), that focus on process of science rather than information, and help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. The participants trained in previous national-level workshops by a team of experts from UK will be trainers in this workshop. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses in and around Mangalore are eligible to participate. 
Dates: February 14-16, 2018;  Location: Mangalore, Karnataka
 

March 2018

1. Regional Pedagogy Workshop for College Science Teachers at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh in collaboration with DBT/DST, Govt. of India and Jiwaji University, Gwalior
This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs), that focus on process of science rather than information, and help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. The participants trained in previous national-level workshops by a team of experts from UK will be trainers in this workshop. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses in and around Gwalior are eligible to participate.
Dates: March 20-22, 2018;  Location: Jiwaji University, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh
 

May 2018

1. Summer Camp for Rural Students, in association with VidnyanVahini
The camp will be for selected class VIII students from rural parts of Maharashtra and will include talks and interactions with scientists, hands-on lab sessions and viists to IISER Pune labs and other places of scientific interest.

July 2018

Hands-on Physics Workshop for KV Teachers, in collaboration with Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT)
There will be two workshops, each of 3 days, for selected Physics Post-Graduate Teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. They will focus on deeper understanding of the principles of physics and make participants feel the excitement of physics. Short but interesting low cost experiments, open house, linking of research activities  at IISER to what is taught in schools, will be some of the important aspects of the workshops. 
Dates: Batch I: July 4-6, 2018;  Batch II: July 9-11, 2018
