September 2017
1. One-day Workshop for School Science and Mathematics Teachers, in association with NIE, Sakal
The workshop is organised on occcassion of Teachers Day. Teachers will get an opportunity to interact with IISER Pune faculty. There will be talks, demonstrations and a hands-on session on making science toys. Various branches of sicnec like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and  Mathematics will be touched up on. 2. Workshop on Science Administration & Management (Level 1), in collaboration with Newton Bhabha Fund, British Council
This workshop will be conducted by a team from Coventry University, UK. The Level 1 workshop will be preceded by a one-day orientation by Indian experts. It aims to open up new career avenues to retain trained women in science and generate a trained workforce to take on emerging roles in the growing scientific enterprise. Selected participants will be involved in the Level 2 workshop which will have in-depth discussions and assignments that will give participants a feel for careers in science administration & management.

October 2017

1. Regional Pedagogy Workshop for College Science Teachers at Bangalore, in collaboration with DBT/DST, St. Joseph's College, Bangalore
This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs), that focus on process of science rather than information, and help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. The participants trained in previous national-level workshops by a team of experts from UK will be trainers in this workshop. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses in non-metropolitan locations in Karnataka are eligible to participate.

2. Workshop on LaTex
LaTeX is a document preparation system widely used in academics. It is used not only to write documents in mathematics but also physics, computer science, engineering, etc. In this extensive workshop, we wish to introduce and teach LaTeX to non-math and non-physics people also. Starting from the ABC of the programme, we shall also introduce advance techniques. Staying loyal to the birth-purpose of LaTeX, we shall discuss important techniques for LaTeX mathematics. LaTeX for Indian languages is another area which is not popular in India itself; we shall teach LaTeX for India languages also. We shall have three hours of lecturing and two hours of practising sessions, every day.

3. Level 1 Pedagogy Workshops for College Science Teachers at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and Kochi, Kerala, in collaboration with Newton Bhabha Fund, British Council and DBT, Govt. of India
This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs), that focus on process of science rather than information, and help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. These would be national-level workshops for about 150 participants at a time, conducted by a team of facilitators from University of Sheffield, UK along with experts from India. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses from all over India are eligible to participate.

The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. The participants trained in previous national-level workshops by a team of experts from UK will be trainers in this workshop. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses in and around Bhubaneswar are eligible to participate.

1. Workshop on Green Chemistry for College Chemistry Teachers
The workshop will orient teachers of undergraduate and postgraduate Chemistry courses towards using environment-friendly practices and processess in the Chemistry laboratory. It will be conducted Prof Ram Mohan from Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU), USA. The lab sessions will be conducted by Dr Neeraja Dashaputre, Chemistry IISER Pune, with inputs from other faculty members. There will be a combination of lectures and hands-on lab sessions.

2. Regional Pedagogy Workshop for College Science Teachers at Bhagalpur, Bihar in collaboration with DBT/DST, Govt. of India and T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bihar
This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs), that focus on process of science rather than information, and help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. The participants trained in previous national-level workshops by a team of experts from UK will be trainers in this workshop. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses in and around Bhgalpur are eligible to participate.

3. Workshop on Science Journalism for Women (Level 1), in collaboration with Newton Bhabha Fund, British Council

This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs), that focus on process of science rather than information, and help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. The participants trained in previous national-level workshops by a team of experts from UK will be trainers in this workshop. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses in and around Varanasi are eligible to participate.

December 2017

1. State School Teachers' Science Congress, in association with the Marathi Vidyan Parishad.
The Congress aims at providing a platform to the science and mathematics teachers to communicate their ideas, and share new experiments in teaching methodology and science education. The objective is to provide teachers an opportunity to present innovative approaches in science teaching and get other similar ideas that can be put into practice from their peers. One hundred school teachers from all over Maharashtra will participate in this Congress. The focal theme will be Innovative Methods for Evaluation of Science Learning in Classroom. The teachers will present their innovations in parallel sessions dedicated to various sub-themes. Selected teachers from each group will get an opportunity to share their ideas in the Plenary Session at the end of the day.

2. Level 2 Pedagogy Workshop for College Science Teachers at New Delhi, in collaboration with Newton Bhabha Fund, British Council and DBT, Govt. of India
This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers of UG/PG science courses to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs) and their use in the classroom. Selected participants from previous Level 1 workshops participate in Level 2, conducted by the same team from University of Sheffield, UK, along with experts from India. The focus is on enhancing the knowledge of participants about RBPTs and on making them capable of training others on the subject. It is a train-the-trainer module.

The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. This would be a national-level workshop for about 150 participants at a time, conducted by a team of facilitators from University of Sheffield, UK along with experts from India. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses from all over India are eligible to participate.

4. INSPIRE Science Camp through the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India for students studying in 11th standard.
The camps are designed to attract and retain a large number of students in basic sciences and to promote research and innovation, by exposing students to the excitement and methods of science, research and innovation, just prior to the time when they make their career decisions. The students participating in this five-day residential camp will have an excellent opportunity to interact with the best scientific leaders of this country. The camp would provide thought provoking lectures, open discussions, hands-on lab sessions, and group activities. The aim is to facilitate self-learning through close interactions, and encourage independent thoughts and inquiry-based questions.

January 2018

1. Workshops on Science Administration & Management, and Science Journalism for Women (Level 2), in collaboration with Newton Bhabha Fund, British Council
Selected participants from respective Level 1 workshops on Science Administration & Managment and Science Journalism will be selected to participate in Level 2 workshops. These 2-day workshops will provide some advanced training in these allied science fields and will be conducted by the same team from Coventry University, UK

2. Regional Pedagogy Workshop for College Science Teachers at Hyderabad, Telangana, in collaboration with DBT/DST, Govt. of India and Bhavan's Vivekananda College
This is a part of a series of workshops, designed to introduce teachers to Research-based Pedagogical Tools (RBPTs), that focus on process of science rather than information, and help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The workshops also give teachers a platform to network with peers and to get information on funding opportunities. The participants trained in previous national-level workshops by a team of experts from UK will be trainers in this workshop. Teachers from all science disciplines, teaching UG or PG level courses in and around Telangana are eligible to participate.
