Dr. Harinath Chakrapani Wins CRSI Young Scientist Award, 2015  Feb 08, 2015

Dr. Harinath Chakrapani, Assistant Professor of Chemistry at IISER Pune, has won the Young Scientist Award (2015) of the Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI). CRSI is a professional body that was established in 1999 with an aim to facilitate and promote research in all branches of chemistry. Every year, two scientists below the age of 40 years are presented the Young Scientist Award for original contributions to research in chemistry. Dr Chakrapani was one of the scientists selected for this year’s award at the ongoing national symposium of CRSI.

Dr. Chakrapani is an organic chemist working in the area of nitric oxide prodrugs. His laboratory is involved in design, synthesis and evaluation of organic compounds that can produce reactive species in a spatiotemporally controlled manner, and can be used as tools for biochemical and cell biological studies.
