We are interested in a range of problems related to Himalayan glaciers - energy and mass balance processes, glacier dynamics, climatic response of the glaciers, microclimate, glacier hydrology etc. The overarching objective is to understand the past, present and future of the glaciers in the third pole.
Our tools are field experiments (in some of the most scenic and inhospitable natural laboratories!), satellite data, and computer models that we have been developing. Our research lies at an exciting intersection of physics, climate science, hydrology, and geology.
