Open Positions
At
present:
1.
Ph. D. position in synthetic ion channel studies: A graduate
student position is open in beginning of 2011 to carry out a Ph.D. thesis
in synthetic ion channel field. Applicants must hold a Master's degree
in chemistry, biochemistry, or related areas, and have a strong interest
in organic synthesis. Candidates must have desired rank/score in CSIR/GATE
set by IISER Pune.
The
project involves rigorous organic synthesis, UV and fluorescent studies.
Fundamental knowledge of ion channels, lipids, non-covalent interactions,
molecular recognition, etc. is desirable.
2.
Ph. D. position in drug design and synthesis: A graduate student
position is open in beginning of 2011 to carry out a Ph.D. thesis in
drug design and synthesis. Applicants must hold a Master's degree in
chemistry, biochemistry, or related areas, and have a strong interest
in computational drug design. Candidates must have desired rank/score
in CSIR/GATE set by IISER Pune.
Knowledge
of docking program (Autodock or any other program) is desirable. In
addition, knowledge and interest in organic synthesis is also resired.
