The project involves carrying out cloning of relevant mutant constructs for studying enzymes and interacting partners involved in bacterial motility and cell division.

Required knowledge

Basic concepts in molecular biology techniques and protein biochemistry

Required skills

Basic concepts in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, plasmid isolation and protein expression and purification, as taught in a BSc or MSc curriculum. Interest in protein structures and structure analysis using visualization softwares such as PyMol or Chimera is an advantage.

These summer projects are also an opportunity for students to evaluate the suitability of various programmes at IISER-Pune (Integrated PhD and PhD) for future career choice.
