This project will look at the differences in functions of the DDK kinases found in cells undergoing mitosis and meiosis in fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe as an experimental model. Genetic and molecular biology approaches will be used. 

Required knowledge

Knowledge of basic genetics and molecular biology is absolutely essential. 

Required skills

Some prior experience in microbiology and molecular biology methods such as PCR, gel electrophoresis is needed. Prior research experience in other molecular or cell biology projects would be preferred.
