Apoptosis inhibitor 5 (Api5) is a chromatin-associated protein implicated in cell survival and therapeutic resistance. Preliminary lab data indicate that Api5 plays an important role in maintaining chromosome stability. To investigate this further, Api5 will be deregulated, and chromosome spreads will be prepared to analyse the instability.
Basics of cell and molecular biology. Lab experience will be an added advantage.
