Molecular Biology Workshops on 'Whodunnit?: DNA Fingerprinting' and 'Microbial Investigator: DNA-based species ID'

Registrations for the Molecular Biology workshops on 'Whodunnit?: DNA Fingerprinting' are now open. These are basic, paid, hands-on 3 hour workshops (09:00 am - 12:00 pm or 02:00 pm - 05:00 pm) for high school students (9th-12th), college students and anyone interested. Participants will try to identify the killer among three suspects using restriction digestion analysis of DNA and learn the application of the technique in DNA fingerprinting. Certificates will be provided after completion of the workshop.

Registrations are open for the Molecular Biology workshops on 'Microbial Investigator: DNA-based species ID'. These are basic, paid, hands-on one day long workshops for high school students (9th-12th), college students and anyone interested. Experiments include extracting bacterial genomic DNA, setting up a polymerase chain reaction (PCR), agarose gel electrophoresis and basic bioinformatics like BLAST. Certificates will be provided after completion of the workshop. Timing will be from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM.
