This 5-day residential course offers a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of light microscopy, including light paths, contrast techniques, fluorescence principles, and advanced imaging methods such as confocal microscopy. Participants will receive hands-on training with widefield, point-scanning, and spinning-disk confocal microscopes. The course also features an image analysis module, providing an introduction to digital image processing and data handling. Additionally, research talks by eminent scientists will highlight the applications of light microscopy and demonstrate how to translate digital captures into meaningful scientific insights and discoveries.
