Mini-Workshop on Deep Earth Neutrino + Seismic Imaging & TomographY (DENSITY 2026)

Department of Earth and Climate Science (ECS), IISER Pune campus

The Department of Earth and Climate Science, IISER Pune and the Institute of Physics (IOP), Bhubaneswar, are jointly organizing an interdisciplinary mini-workshop titled Deep Earth Neutrino + Seismic Imaging & TomographY (DENSITY 2026), during February 23-24, 2026 at IISER Pune.

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together leading experts from the Neutrino physics and Earth Science communities for in-depth discussions on how the two fields can complement each other in the common goal of probing Earth’s deep interiors. This mini-workshop will serve as a platform for scientists from these two diverse fields to engage with each other on some of the open issues in Earth tomography, as well as to identify opportunities for future interactions and collaboration. On the second day of the workshop, we will also discuss how an Underground Science Facility in India can advance the cause of interdisciplinary Earth tomography.

Date: February 23- 24, 2026

Time: 09:30 AM to 05:30 PM

Venue: Department of Earth and Climate Science (ECS), IISER Pune campus

Organizers:
