“Is this how I use it?" – Making Robotics and AI work for us more effectively
Seminar Hall 51 “Matrix”, 4th Floor, Main Building, IISER Pune
Abstract
As human interaction with robotics and AI weaves itself in our daily life, it is imperative that human factors and user-centred approaches remain central to the development of these technologies. This talk will delve into the paradigm of human-robot interaction (HRI), with particular emphasis on enhancing the intuitiveness of the interaction, with a view to improving user performance and efficiency. Illustrative examples will include applications in social HRI, teleoperation, telesurgery, etc. Through the analysis of the case studies and practical frameworks, the presentation aims to provide an insight into the hows, whys, and where tos for the different domains, ultimately uniting them under the overarching theme of human-centred robotics and AI.
