Post-Quantum Cryptography: A modest overview

Abstract
The so-called Q-day is just around the corner (experts predict a decade or less!), traditional cryptographic systems would soon be vulnerable compromising the security of digital
communication. Classical encryption methods such as RSA and ECC would be broken via the
inherent computational power of quantum computers thanks to the seminal work of Shor and
Grover. To safeguard, post-quantum cryptography (PQC) is emerging as a critical field aimed at
developing resilient cryptographic algorithms impervious to quantum attacks. Post-quantum
cryptography (PQC) refers to cryptographic methods that deliver resistance against threats that
quantum computers could pose. We give a modest overview on the paradigm-shifting
developments of this constantly growing discipline
