Prof. Swaminathan Sivaram, INSA Emeritus Scientist and Honorary Faculty of IISER Pune, has been selected to receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award given by the Chirantan Rasayan Sanstha (CRS).
The award will be conferred during the International Symposium “Science Beyond Boundary: Invention, Discovery, Innovation, and Society – Rasayan 23” to be held at Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat, during July 8–10, 2026.

Prof. Sivaram's research interests are in polymer chemistry including synthesis, structure-property relationships in polymers, polymer surface chemistry, polymers for energy-related applications, and biodegradable polymers. Prof. Sivaram is a former Director of the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, and has been an active supporter of IISER Pune's growth since its inception. He has been recognised with various awards throughout his career, both within and outside India, including the Padma Shri in 2006, one of India's top civilian honours.
The CRS Lifetime Achievement Award is a prestigious recognition conferred by Chirantan Rasayan Sanstha and recognises Prof. Sivaram’s outstanding scientific achievements, exemplary leadership, and enduring contributions to research, education, and the advancement of science and technology in India.
