Swarnajayanti Fellowship to Dr G V Pavan Kumar

Pavan imageDr. G.V. Pavan Kumar, Associate Professor in Physics at IISER Pune, has been selected for the Swarnajayanti Fellowship in the area of Physical Sciences for the year 2017-2018. Awarded by the Govt. of India’s Department of Science and Technology to a selected number of young scientists, the Swarnajayanti Fellowship supports basic research in frontier areas of science and technology.
 
Dr. Pavan Kumar is one of the 13 awardees in 6 disciplines and is one of the 2 awardees in the Physical Sciences discipline for 2017-2018.
 
The fellowship will support Dr. Pavan Kumar’s work in the area of plasmofluidics and the team will address some fundamental questions in soft-matter physics with relevance in cutting-edge applications such as light-activated micro- and nano-fluidics. Visit this link to learn more about his work.
