National Prize for Research on Chemistry of Peptides and Nucleic Acids to Prof. Srivatsan

Prof. S G Srivatsan, Professor in Chemistry at IISER Pune, has won National Prize for Research on Chemistry of Peptides and Nucleic Acids. The award is given by Prof. C.N.R. Rao Education foundation to scientists below 55 years of age.
This award recognises Prof. Srivatsan's work carried out at IISER Pune. Prof. Srivatsan’s work is multidisciplinary, involving diverse areas like synthetic organic chemistry, biophysics, molecular, cell and structural biology. His group uses concepts in physical organic chemistry to develop tools to assess structure, dynamics and function of nucleic acids in cell-free and complex cellular environments. He has developed innovative probe design approaches and nucleic acid labelling technologies. You can learn more about his work here.
