Prof. K. N. Ganesh, Director, IISER Pune has been chosen for the H. K. Firodia Vijnan Bhushan Award for Excellence in Science & Technology for the year 2015.
The award is given in the memory of late Mr. H. K. Firodia to eminent Indian scientists for their original and outstanding contributions to any branch of Science or Technology. Instituted in 1996, it consists of a citation and cash prize of rupees one lakh. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was the first recipient of this award. Dr. C.N.R. Rao, Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar and Prof. Jayant Narlikar are some of the other past recipients.
