Faculty member Dr. Srabanti Chaudhury from the Chemistry department has received the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)’s POWER Fellowship.
The Promoting Opportunities for Women in Exploratory Research (POWER) Fellowship has been instituted by SERB as an initiative for empowering women researchers. It recognises outstanding women researchers and innovators in India, in various areas of specialisation. The award consists of a monthly fellowship amount and a research grant for a period of three years.
Working in the area of theoretical physical chemistry, Dr. Srabanti Chaudhury's group studies problems in chemical/biological physics, and soft condensed matter. For this, Dr. Chaudhury's group uses methods of statistical mechanics and stochastic processes. Visit the group's webpage to learn more about their work. The SERB-POWER fellowship to Dr. Chaudhury will enable research on understanding the molecular mechanisms of single nanocatalysts.
