Prof. R. Boomi Shankar, faculty member in the Department of Chemistry, has been honoured with the prestigious CRS Silver Star Award by the Chirantan Rasayan Sanstha (CRS) of India at the "Rasayan 20" Symposium held at the Vidyasagar University, Midnapore.

This award recognises Prof. Boomi Shankar’s outstanding contributions to the field of chemistry. Prof. Boomi Shankar’s group works in the research areas of inorganic and materials chemistry, focusing on developing and studying new materials. The group designs host-guest assemblies and supramolecules and other advanced materials that have special properties like ferroelectricity and piezoelectricity. The Chirantan Rasayan Sanstha was established in 2016 with the mission to popularise science at all levels for the benefit of society.
