CRSI Bronze Medal to Dr. S. G. Srivatsan

Dr. S. G. Srivatsan (Associate Professor, Chemistry) has been chosen to receive the Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI)’s Bronze Medal for 2020. The CRSI, a premier professional chemical society of India, was established in 1999 with an objective to facilitate and promote research & education in all branches of chemistry. The Society organises symposia, conferences and events and annually give awards, including gold, silver and bronze medals in recognition of excellence in the field of chemistry.Srivatsan Dr. Srivatsan is one of the winners of the CRSI Bronze Medal for 2020. The Medal recognises his eminent contributions in the area of biophysics and chemistry of nucleic acids. His group develops tools to study structure, dynamics and function of nucleic acids in a cell-free as well as cellular environments. The group also works on developing nucleolipd conjugates that are capable of self-assembly. You can learn more about his work here and here. Previous winners of the CRSI Bronze medal from IISER Pune include Prof. M. Jayakannan, Prof. Srinivas Hotha, Prof. V. G. Anand, and Dr. Pinaki Talukdar, while Prof. K. N. Ganesh and Prof. S. Sivaram have been past Silver and Gold medallists. We congratulate Dr. S. G. Srivatsan and wish him further success in future.
