Dr. Arvind Natu appointed BoG Chairperson of IISER Kolkata for a second term

Dr. Arvind Natu has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Board of Governors of IISER Kolkata, for a second term of 3 years beginning from August 25, 2023. As the apex decision-making body appointed by the Government of India, the role of the Board includes overseeing and approving the decisions of various institutional committees and providing direction to institutions.

Dr. Natu has been associated with IISER Pune since its inception and has been extensively involved with outreach activities and infrastructure development at the institute. At IISER Pune, Dr. Natu held the position of Visiting faculty and was an Honorary Consultant. Prior to that, Dr. Natu was a Senior Scientist at CSIR- National Chemical Laboratory, Pune with research interests in combinatorial and bio-organic chemistry, and biology in drug discovery. He is a recipient of the German ‘Cross of Merit’ which is conferred to foreign nationals by the Government of Germany, and many other awards and distinctions.
