Prof. S G Srivatsan (Chemistry, IISER Pune) has been selected for the Sun Pharma Research Award for 2020 in the Pharmaceutical Sciences category. Each year, the Award recognises excellent original research by Indian scientists in medical and pharmaceutical sciences. The prize carries a trophy, citation and a cash award.
Prof. Srivatsan conducts multidisciplinary research on nucleic acid diagnosis and therapeutics. His group develops and uses innovative tools to assess structure, dynamics and function of nucleic acids and also works on multifunctional nucleolipid conjugates that self-assemble into nanofibres, nanotubes and gels.
