Prof. Amit Hogadi from the Department of Mathematics and Prof. Angshuman Nag from the Department of Chemistry have been elected as Fellows of the Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc), Bengaluru.
The Academy has announced a total of 40 fellows have been newly elected as Fellows in 2024 from across the country. The affiliation will be effective from 2025 onwards.
Founded in 1934, the Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc) promotes scientific progress across disciplines. The IASc fellowship is a prestigious award that recognises individual contributions to science and research. The fellowship offers the opportunity to connect with researchers, participate in scientific discourse, and engage in academic and research activities.

Prof. Amit Hogadi specialises in algebraic geometry. His research group focuses on algebraic stacks, motives and the study of homotopy theory of algebraic varieties. Prof. Angshuman Nag works in the area of materials and physical chemistry related to semiconductor optoelectronics. His group focuses on designing hybrid perovskites and quantum dots, studying their optoelectronic properties for advancements in LEDs, solar cells, and photodetectors.
