Yashkalyani National Vidnyan Prasar Puraskar 2023 to Shri Ashok Rupner

Shri Ashok Rupner, Senior Technical Officer at the Science Activity Centre of IISER Pune has received the Yashkalyani National Vidnyan Prasar Puraskar 2023 from the Yashkalyani Sanstha (NGO). This award recognises Shri Rupner's work in science outreach and service to society.

The award ceremony was held at an annual event of Yashkalyani Sanstha held on October 22, 2023, at Karmala, Solapur. Among the dignitaries present at the occasion were Dr. Bharat Kale (Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), London and Former Director of Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET), Pune), Shri. Ravindra Nadkarni (Former Rear Admiral, Indian Navy), Shri. Arvind Gupta (Renowned Science Communicator and Padma Shri Awardee), and Dr. Vasant Punde (Senior Gynaecologist). Many teachers, students, and parents attended this event.

Yashkalyani Sanstha is an organisation working in the education field in the rural part of Maharashtra for the last 10 years. It was founded by the late Mr. Vasant Divekar (an Alumnus of the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai) and the late Smt. Leelatai Divekar (a former science teacher at St. Columba School, Mumbai). Yashkalyani conducts various programs for students and teachers to enhance the quality of education and work towards the empowerment of women.
