Arka received his PhD in Physics at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2017. He was a KIPAC fellow (2017-2020) at the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology (KIPAC) at Stanford University and SLAC. From 2020 to 2022, he was a Schramm Fellow in Theoretical Astrophysics at Fermilab (USA), before joining IISER Pune.
The evolution and clustering of inhomogeneities in our Universe is sensitive to the properties of various components that make up our Universe, including Dark Energy, Dark Matter, and neutrinos. Understanding this process in detail can help pin down the nature of Dark Energy and Dark Matter, and the total mass of the Standard Model neutrinos - some of the biggest open questions in physics. We work on the theoretical and modeling aspects of this program, making use of complex numerical simulations, and novel statistical techniques.
