Membership
All students, faculty members and staff of the institute are eligible for the membership of the institute library for using its facilities and services offered for the purpose of their academic, research and administrative work. Use of library facilities and services implies acceptance of its rules and procedures.
Borrowing of reading materials facility is available to the faculty, researchers, students and staff of the Institute. The registration to use the library facility and services is automatic for the faculty and staff on joining the institute and for students on registration for the courses.
Borrowing Privileges
- BS-MS Student - 4 books for 30 days
- MSc Student - 4 books for 30 days
- Integrated PhD Student - 5 books for 30 days
- Junior Research Fellow - 5 books for 60 days
- Senior Research Fellow - 7 books for 180 days
- Post Doctoral Fellow - 7 books for 180 days
- Teaching Assistant - 2 books for 30 days
- Project Assistant - 3 books for 30 days
- Project Fellow - 3 books for 30 days
- Research Associate - 7 books for 180 days
- Faculty - 50 books for 365 days
- Visiting faculty - 5 books for 90 days
- Adjunct faculty - 5 books for 90 days
- Temporary Staff - 1 book for 15 days
- All other Regular Staff - 5 books for 30 days
Charges for overdue books for all category of users
- Rs.1/- per day per book for 3 days after due date
- Rs.5/- per day per book from 4th day and onwards after due date
Ceiling Amount
- Students and other Members: Ceiling of Rs.100 for preventing further issuing of books and ceiling of Rs.1000/- for accumulation of total overdue charges per user at a time
- Faculty, Visiting and Adjunct faculty Members: Ceiling of Rs.500/- for preventing further issuing of books and ceiling of Rs.1000/- for accumulation of total overdue charges per user at a time
Visitor Membership
To facilitate institutional linkages and interactions for mutual benefit, Srinivasa Ramanujan Library has opened up its membership to the following categories of organizations by offering limited access to resources and services for a nominal fee.
Individual Membership for Research Scholars
- Membership fee: INR 100 + Applicable GST per day
- No borrowing privileges
- Library visiting hours: 9 am - 5.30 pm only on working days
- Consult library print resources within the library premises
- Photocopying & articles printing services will cost INR 2 per page + actual postage/courier charges if any
- As identity proof, submission of a copy of the Institute ID Card and Aadhar is mandatory
Academic Institutional Membership
- Annual membership fee – INR 10,000 + Applicable GST
- Refundable deposit for borrowing facility – INR 5,000
- Library visiting hours 9 am - 5:30 pm on all days including holidays
- Authorized member can borrow a maximum of 5 books for 30 days. Multimedia resources are not allowed to be borrowed
- Consult library print resources and guidance within the library premises
- Personal printed books are not allowed to bring inside the library
- Photocopying & articles printing services will cost INR 2 per page + actual postage/courier charges if any
Industry and Corporate Membership
- Annual membership fee – INR 20,000 + Applicable GST
- Refundable deposit for borrowing facility – INR 10,000
- Library visiting hours 9 am - 8 pm on all days including holidays
- Authorized member can borrow a maximum of 5 books for 30 days. Multimedia resources are not allowed to be borrowed.
- Consult library print resources and guidance within the library premises
- Personal printed books are not allowed to bring inside the library
- Photocopying & articles printing services will cost INR 2 per page + actual postage/courier charges if any
