Open Access Publishing
As per the terms and conditions negotiated by the 'IISER Library Consortium,' the following publishers have agreed to offer free vouchers/discounts on Article Processing Charges (APC) for open-access publishing during the calendar year 2026.
The Company of Biologists (CoB):
We are the first to sign the Read and Publish agreement (terms negotiated by 'IISER Library Consortium') with CoB from India. This agreement allows us unlimited access to hybrid subscription journals - Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology – and their archives. The journals can be cross-searched here alongside fully Open Access journals - Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open. Corresponding authors at IISER Pune can also publish an uncapped number of Open Access research articles free of Article Processing Charges (APC) in hybrid subscription journals and fully Open Access journals. All publishing APC fees are included in the fixed subscription price. A step-by-step guide for authors is available here.
Geological Society of America (GSA) – Geology:
As per the terms negotiated by the IISER Library Consortium, the publisher offers 5 (Five) free Gold Open Access vouchers for corresponding authors from IISERs for publishing articles in the Geology Journal on a first-come-first-serve basis for 2026. They may be used for GSA Bulletin, Geology, or Geosphere.
Rockefeller University Press:
Read-and-Publish agreement has been signed between IISER Pune and Rockefeller University Press (RUP) for 2026 as per the terms negotiated by the IISER Library Consortium.
Rockefeller University Press’ Read and Publish is an all-inclusive product. For an annual up-front fee, IISER Pune receives unlimited access to all pay-walled content of RUP plus immediate open access publishing of the papers by corresponding authors of IISER Pune under CC-BY license terms free of Article Processing Charges (APC) in the following three hybrid journals during the calendar year 2025. There is no limit on the number of articles that may be published open access during the license. All publishing fees (APC - US$ 2000 Green Fee/US$ 5300 Gold OA Fee for each OA paper published) are included in the fixed subscription price.

National Academy of Sciences, USA - Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS):
As per the terms negotiated by the IISER Library Consortium, corresponding authors from subscribing institutions will get a discount of US$ 500 on the Article Processing Charge (APC) to publish open-access papers in PNAS for the year 2026.
