Dr. Moumita Majumdar from the Chemistry department at IISER Pune has won a Bronze Medal of Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI).
CRSI is a premier professional chemical society of India established in 1999 with an aim to facilitate and promote research and education in all branches of chemistry. The Society organises symposia, events and seminars, and also gives various awards, including gold, silver and bronze medals to recognise excellence in chemistry research each year.
The Chemical Research Society of India announced the 2024 Medal, Fellowship, and Lecture Awardees over its Twitter handle on July 8, 2023. Dr. Moumita Majumdar is one of the recipients of the CRSI Bronze Medal for 2024.
Dr. Moumita Majumdar's research group works in the area of fundamental main-group chemistry and their implications in catalysis and energy-storage materials. The group's focus is on designing main-group ligands for transition metal catalysts, main-group compounds as catalysts and battery anode materials syntheses.
