Prof. Richa Rikhy received Anne McLaren Award for Outstanding Women in Developmental Biology

Prof. Richa Rikhy has been awarded the prestigious Anne McLaren Award for Outstanding Women in Developmental Biology by the International Society of Differentiation. The Anne McLaren Award is named after renowned geneticist and reproductive biologist Prof. Dame Anne Laura Dorinthea McLaren. 

Prof. Rikhy is a faculty member in the Department of Biology and a DBT-Wellcome Trust India Alliance Senior Fellow. This award recognises her work on the role of plasma membrane and mitochondrial dynamics in embryogenesis and stem cell differentiation.

As part of the award, Prof. Rikhy delivered the ISD Anne McLaren Award Lecture at the conference jointly organised by the Indian Society of Developmental Biology and the International Society for Differentiation (InSDB–ISD 2025), held at IISER Berhampur during December 14-17, 2025. Prof. Rikhy was presented the award by Prof. Sally Dunwoodie (Victor Chang Institute, Sydney, Australia, & President of the International Society of Differentiation).
