Prof. Aloke Das from the Chemistry department at IISER Pune is among the Bronze Medal winners awarded by the Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) for the year 2026.
The CRSI is a premier professional chemical society of India established in 1999 with an aim to facilitate and promote research and education in all branches of chemistry. The Society organises symposia, events and seminars, and also gives various awards, including gold, silver and bronze medals to recognise excellence in chemistry research each year.

The Chemical Research Society of India announced the 2026 Medal, Fellowship, and Lecture Awardees over its X (previously Twitter) handle on July 4, 2025. The awards will be formally presented during the upcoming National Symposium in Chemistry (NSC), organised annually by CRSI.
Prof. Aloke Das's research group works on understanding weak non-covalent interactions and their role in determining the function of chemical and biological molecules. The group uses laser-based spectroscopy techniques in the gas phase, complemented by quantum chemistry calculations, 2D NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography for these studies. Many congratulations to Prof. Aloke Das on this recognition!
