Prof. Sujit K. Ghosh from the Department of Chemistry is among those selected for the Society for Materials Chemistry (SMC) Silver Medal-2024 Award for the year 2024. The SMC Awards 2024 will be conferred at the 10th DAE – BRNS Interdisciplinary Symposium on Materials Chemistry (ISMC2024), to be held during December 4-7, 2024.

Society for Materials Chemistry - SMC is a professional scientific body founded in 2007 to promote education, research, and applications of materials chemistry among scientists and engineers in India and abroad. Since its inception, SMC has been involved in organising international symposia (ISMC), national workshops (NWMC) and the publication of periodic SMC Bulletins.
Prof. Sujit Ghosh's research group is working on the development and functional studies of various advanced porous materials like Metal-organic Frameworks (MOFs), Metal-organic Polyhedra (MOPs), Porous organic polymers (POPs), Hydrogen-bonded Organic Frameworks (HOFs), Nano-composites of porous materials etc. for chemical industry, energy and environmental applications.
